Dailies AquaComfort Plus
- Maximum freshness thanks to the eyelid blow-activated moisture system
- 3-phase moisture complex moisturises the eyes
- Comfortable daily lens for occasional wear
With the daily contact lenses Dailies AquaComfort Plus, the manufacturer Alcon has established a hydrogel daily contact lens with a blink-activated moisturizing system on the market. The 3-phase moisturizing complex integrates moistening substances into the contact lens material which are released from the contact lens into the eye when the wearer blinks. This revolution allows wearers of Dailies AquaComfort Plus to treat their eye to a touch of moisture every time they blink. Due to their consistently smooth surface, Dailies AquaComfort Plus offer ideal imaging properties. The lenses thereby provide sharp vision at all times, because a smooth, moist contact lens surface makes a decisive difference.
Refreshing comfort in the blink of an eye
On average, our eyelids cover a distance of 120 meters on the surface of our eyes each day. This is equivalent to blinking around 14,000 times. Dailies AquaComfort Plus take advantage of this fact. The 3-phase moisturizing complex, which contains wetting molecules, re-wets the contact lenses with every blink. This guarantees maximum freshness.
Three active ingredients for a whole new feeling of freshness
The 3-phase moisturizing complex uses different methods to ensure that the Dailies AquaComfort Plus feel like they were just inserted, all day long. The special liquid in the storage case contains HPMC. HPMC makes the liquid slightly gel-like and works like a moisturizing eye drop when the lenses are inserted. PEG is an ingredient used in eye drops for dry eyes. In the contact lens material, the PEG molecules bind with PVA. PVA is embedded into the lens material in liquid form and is delivered to the eye over the course of the day whenever the wearer blinks. It binds to the liquid in the tear film. The result is a consistently smooth, moist film on the contact lens.
Clear vision no matter what the day may bring
With contact lenses, vision can only be sharp if the tear film is evenly distributed over the surface of the contact lens. Influences like air conditioning, dry air, or infrequent blinking in front of the computer can cause the surface of the contact lenses to become uneven. This blurs the wearer’s vision. Since Dailies AquaComfort Plus constantly release moisture, they consistently provide an optimum, smooth surface for ideal visual properties. For an even better supply of oxygen to the eye, we also recommend Dailies Total 1, which are part of a new generation of contact lenses.
